Rules and Categories
What rules you should follow and which categories of photo are welcome
Main Rules
To make sure that everyone has a smooth and positive experience here, there are a few simple rules that you need to follow if you want to participate in the Online Photo Club. First, all submissions should be your own (original) work and be appropriate for a general audience. Second, the image extensions accepted here are .jpg and .png, with a file size no larger than 1MB per picture. Finally, each picture should match at least one of our categories (listed below), with an included title and description with each submission to help understand what is being shared. Repeatedly breaking these rules or posting offensive or plagiarized content will lead to your submissions being removed and may lead to a ban from all future submissions as well.
Wildlife, Hometown, and Food
The Wildlife category is here to celebrate the beauty and diversity of animals, whether they be in their natural environments or found elsewhere. No matter if you like to capture photos of birds in flight, deer in the woods, or a close up of your favorite insects, this category is all about showcasing the wonders of the animal kingdom. While photos here can feature creatures from the land, sea, or sky, they must be highlighted or presented in a respectful manner. Please avoid images of captive, distressed, or deceased animals unless the content has been vetted by site moderators beforehand. We encourage photographers to be patient observers and to show empathy with whatever species they may be looking to find. As long as you are respecting the wildlife, feel free to get as creative as you want!
The Hometown category invites photographers to share the places, moments, or other areas that define where they're from. Whether it's a quiet street, a local event, or a landmark only locals know, this category is about capturing the essence of your community. Show us what makes your hometown special- whether it be through architecture, culture, history, or everyday life. Entries here can be urban or rural, crowded or peaceful, so long as they offer a glimpse into a place that feels like home. The best photos in this category usually tell stories and evoke a sense of belonging, nostalgia, or pride in your local identity.
The Food category is all about the art and joy of exploring what we eat. From a beautifully plated gourmet meal to a candid shot of street food, this category explores food as a subject of culture, comfort, and creativity. Photos can highlight ingredients, preparation, or the final dish, whether it's home-cooked or from your favorite restaurant. Good lighting, composition, and context are key here- consider what your picture tells about the food and environment behind it. Regardless if it's your grandmother's recipe or a local delicacy, share the flavors that mean the most to you, or even just the ones that make your mouth water the most.
